Michael is one of the original orthodontists in Wellington, and has been practising for more than 30 years. Michael saw the potential in Courtenay Place back in the 1980s and set up Michael S. Taylor Orthodontics (now Courtenay Orthodontics) in the area, along with a small branch in Lower Hutt. In 1984 he took over an existing branch practice in Masterton, and another in the Kapiti Coast in 2006. Over the years Michael has helped thousands of Wellingtonians with orthodontics, and in some cases has treated three generations of the same family.
Michael has always been at the fore of orthodontics in New Zealand and is well-regarded internationally by some of the world’s leading orthodontic researchers and practitioners. He has been a member of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists and the European Orthodontic Society for more than 30 years, and is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and a fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists.
Married with four grown-up children, Michael is kept busy outside of orthodontics by his grandchildren, vintage car rallies, skiing, international travel, and accompanying his wife on garden tours.
