Dr Wei Lin

Wei was born in China and moved to New Zealand at the tender age of 6. He and his family has been constantly on the move around the North Island. He has resided in Auckland, Whanganui as well as Wellington, where he attended and graduated from Hutt Valley High School. Wei’s family eventually settled in New Plymouth, where they reside now.

Upon graduation as a general dentist, Wei worked as a dental house surgeon as well as a private dentist in New Plymouth for three years prior to returning to the University of Otago to complete a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry, specialising in Orthodontics.

Wei is currently a member of the Royal Australasian college of Dental surgeons, a member of the New Zealand association of Orthodontists and is Australasian orthodontic board certified.

Outside of the orthodontic practice, Wei has many hobbies including cooking, snowboarding, keeping fit, and is a very amateur surfer. At home, Wei and his partner have two cats who like to pretend they do not like any affection yet wake him up every morning at 5am to ensure he is ready for the day ahead and that they are fed on time. Eventually, Wei would like to add a dog to the family preferably in the form of a Samoyed.
